Veterans tribute with Adam Mellema

Immediately following our Biz Expo event on Veteran’s Day we have a special tribute to America’s World War II veterans. Adam Mellema will be presenting Stories from the War, in honor of those who served our country in that war.

Here is a short sample of his presentation:

Adam is a Grand Rapids native. Some of you may remember him:

  • At age 10 Adam was chosen by Grand Rapids Fox 17 to host its weekly new show for kids, Fast Forward. Adam was with the show from 1989-1993.
  • Throughout his childhood years Adam was prominent in Grand Rapids’ local and community theatre scene-as an actor, singer and as a storyteller.
  • Adam studied Drama at the Goodman School of Drama at DePaul University in Chicago, one of America’s most elite Drama schools.
  • Soon afterward he moved to Southern California. For the last 15 years he has been active in Hollywood as an actor, producer, and as a professional storyteller to people of all ages.
During that time, Adam started interviewing WWII vets. Stories from the War are first person accounts of these vets’ respective war experiences - as told to Adam.

When Adam first began doing these interviews many WWII vets were still living among us. Today-even if you include those who lied about their age because they so much wanted to serve the cause-every vet from that war who is still with us is at least 90 years old. Before long they will all be gone.

Adam’s presentation will remind us of their sacrifice. It will be a great opportunity for you, your spouse, and your kids to get some feeling for what this horrific war-worst ever- meant to the young men and women who served and sacrificed for our country. We will forever be indebted to them.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Regards,
Bob Baker & Craig Langbo
